RD 101 - Lesson #55 - Things That Differ

I heard somebody say once that “right Division” can’t be too important because it is found only once in the Scriptures.  Yet, the overlooked and essentially mistranslated verse of Philippians 1:10 is certainly a correlative of II Tim. 2:15.  While the KJV translators are well-intentioned and essentially positive, it would seem that they miss the  mark.    Paul, also the writer of II Tim. 2:15 ”Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”  also writes Phil. 1:10.  While “excellent” is usually a perfectly good translation, the element of “differing” is strong in the Word.
